We aim to give back to the community by providing opportunities in the form cadet and scholarships opportunities, awards and sponsorships.

Without the loyalty and support of the West Coast and wider South Island community, Westland Milk Products would not be the successful international company it is today. In recognition of this we aim to give back to the community by providing opportunities in the form cadet and scholarships opportunities, awards and sponsorships.

Ronald McDonald House

Westland is a proud supporter of Ronald McDonald House in Christchurch. Ronald McDonald house helps support families while their children receive hospital care. More than 25 per cent of families who receive care at Ronald McDonald House are from the West Coast, and so for many it’s more than just a house for them, it’s a home away from home. Ronald McDonald House eases some of the practical worries by providing a home in a positive, supportive environment where families can concentrate on their child’s recovery.

West Coast Schools

In 2010 Westland supported a number of community projects at West Coast schools, including provisioning for more than $20,000 to be spent on various education projects throughout the district’s schools.

Netball

As a South Island based business, Westland Milk Products likes to support local initiatives and teams which require support. Cantabrians are passionate about their sport and we have reinforced our dedication to Canterbury through our subsidiary EasiYo, which is a proud supporter of the Tactix Netball Team. The Tactix is Canterbury’s netball team based in Christchurch and is one of five teams participating in the 2011 ANZ Championship. We wish the team all the very best of luck for the 2011 season.

Cadetships

We offer two cadetship positions each year for school leavers who reside in the West Coast region. Click here to read about the cadetships in our careers section.

Tertiary scholarships

Each year we provide an opportunity for up to three West Coast students to receive assistance with university fees and guaranteed holiday work from November to February.
