Customer Commitment /Quality Assurance

We lead the way in innovation and product development while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and service. Our team is committed to learning about the requirements of our customers and as such, we invite all our customers to assess our procedures and processes to ensure they match the future expectations of your operations.

International Standards

To ensure consistency and reliability, our modern and flexible manufacturing facilities are fully certified to internationally recognised standards for food safety. Under the International Standards Organisation (ISO) Food Management System ISO 22000, Westland subscribes to a set of rules and expectations to ensure our products and processes are documented, measured, reviewed and continually improved against an internationally audited standard.

ISO 22000 requires all companies to build a Food Safety Management System and ensure a clean sanitary environment at all times. This includes a plan to identify, prevent and eliminate all food safety hazards.

As a result of this accreditation, customers can have 100 per cent confidence in our products and the processes we use to manufacture them.

Traceability

In addition to food safety, traceability is also becoming increasingly important.  At Westland we see the importance of providing traceability to our customers and our products can now be linked back to the area in which the raw milk product was sourced.

Government Schemes

In New Zealand, the livestock industry is also working with the Government to launch a National Animal Identification and Tracing (NAIT) scheme. It is anticipated that the National Animal Identification and Tracing Bill currently being reviewed by the Primary Production Select Committee in Parliament will be passed in 2011.
