Pete Morrison

Pete Morrison was elected Chairman in March 2017 having been elected to the Board as a Director in 2015 following more than 15 years supplying Westland Milk Products from farms in both Canterbury and the West Coast. He is passionate about the co-operative model and believes it allows shareholders to have a sense of ownership, in having the ability to communicate directly with anyone in the company and voice their opinions and concerns.

Pete has experience in owning and operating a number of business, mainly agricultural, and including gold mining, manufacturing, forestry, aviation and a mechanical workshop.

Katie Milne
Deputy Chair

Katie Milne BW

Katie Milne was elected to the Westland Board in 2016 and to the position of Deputy Chair in March 2017. She lives and farms at Rotomanu, and is currently a member of Federated Farmers National Board where she holds several portfolios including biosecurity, ACC, health and safety, wellbeing, local government, and adverse events. Katie is a representative on the Ospri Stakeholders Council, and is the local Ospri TBfree chair. She is also a member of the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee so has insights into the international and national sensitivities around animals in food production. In 2015 Katie was the winner of both the Dairy woman of the year, and Rural Women of Influence awards.

Keith Smith

Keith Smith

Keith Smith is a Professional Director based in Auckland.  Keith chairs Westland's Audit Committee. He spent 27 years as a Chartered Accountant with the firm now known as BDO, specialising in Corporate re-organisation and re-structuring, Financial Advisor to many medium sized businesses throughout New Zealand and finally as a Professional Director. 

Keith is current Chairman of Goodman NZ Ltd, Deputy Chairman of The Warehouse Ltd (having been Chairman from 1995-2011), Director of Mercury NZ, and various other private companies covering a variety of industries, including motor vehicle dealerships, private hospitals and associated health organisations, and marine, horticulture and finance industries.

Raelyn Lourie

Raelyn Lourie

Raelyn Lourie joined the Board of Westland Milk Products in 2008 and was appointed Deputy Chairperson in December 2012. She is also the Chair of Westland’s subsidiary EasiYo, Chair of the Milk Management Committee, and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Raelyn is a dairy farmer with a background in rural and urban lending.  She has held a number of senior management positions with Housing New Zealand and the Rural Bank and has extensive retail marketing experience in large supermarket operations, including Progressive Enterprises.  Raelyn is a director of two dairy farming businesses.

Frank Dooley

Frank Dooley

Frank Dooley was elected to the board of Westland Milk Products in 2010 as Director for the Buller Ward and is a member of the Remuneration and Audit Committees. Frank has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has his own Chartered Accountancy business in Westport.  Born on the West Coast, Frank holds numerous directorships and is a trustee on a number of entities. Frank is a businessman in his own right and recognizes the importance of good corporate governance representation on the Board.

Brent Taylor

Brent Taylor 1

Brent Taylor was elected to the board as an Independent Director in 2014 and is a member of Westland's Remuneration and Milk Management Committees. He has over 40 years’ experience in the New Zealand Dairy Industry with a wide range of employers, including the NZ Cooperative Dairy Company, East Tamaki Dairy Cooperative, the NZ Dairy Board and Fonterra. He has held various roles within these companies including operations management, country manager, and Chief Executive Officer. 

Since retiring from Fonterra in 2013, Brent has concentrated on building a professional director portfolio, providing consultancy services and involvement in private equity investment in New Zealand based industrial companies.                                                                                                             

Rebecca Keoghan

Rebecca Keoghan was elected to the Board as a director in 2015 and is a member of the Production, Remuneration and OSPRI TBFree committees. She has a Bachelor of Medical Science and diplomas in leadership and business management. Currently employed as Business Manager - Dairy for Landcorp farming and Director for Buller Holdings Ltd, Rebecca has wealth of experience at both executive and governance levels. She also lends her time as the Team Leader for the Dairy Manager of the Year industry awards, helping to celebrate the success of young farmers in the Westland Region.

Rebecca owns a 200 cow farm in Westport with her husband Nathan, and was voted the 2016 Dairy Woman of the Year.

Bob Major
Appointed Director

Bob Major

Bob Major holds a Master’s degree in Science from Massey University. He has spent the majority of his career in various roles within the New Zealand dairy industry, working for the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute, the New Zealand Dairy Board and Fonterra Co-operative Group. He held global leadership roles for Fonterra in a number of areas including strategy, mergers and acquisitions, ingredients sales and marketing and innovation. He also held regional leadership roles in the Middle East, Hong Kong and China and was on the senior leadership team of both the New Zealand Dairy Board and Fonterra.

In addition to his position on the Westland Milk Board, Bob is Chair of Gibb Holdings (Nelson) Ltd; a director of BioVittoria Ltd and a member of the Investment Committee of Oriens Capital Private Equity Fund. He Chairs High Value Nutrition, one of the National Science Challenges; the Avocado Primary Growth Partnership and is a member of the International Development Commercial Advisory Panel, appointed by MFAT to provide advice on the New Zealand Aid Programme’s direction and priorities. He is a past Chair of The Mud House Wine Group and has been a director of Sealord Group, Barker Fruit Processors Ltd, a number of New Zealand dairy industry-good organisations, and various Fonterra subsidiaries and joint ventures in Europe and Asia.

Bob chairs Westland's Remuneration Committee and is a director of Westland Milk Products (Shanghai) Company Ltd.

Noel Robb

Neil Robb

Noel Robb was elected to the Board in 2004. He is a member of the Audit and Milk Management Committees, and a director of EasiYo. Noel has a Bachelor of Commerce and Management degree, has been dairy farming since 1995 and currently manages Robb Farms Limited. He has extensive experience in farm development and new dairy conversions.
