Jim Wafelbakker

Jim Wafelbakker came to the West Coast from the North Island in 1974 settling on a farm in the Waitaha Valley where he now milks 170 cows.  Jim joined the Westland Milk Products Board in 1987 representing the Waitaha Ward which was amalgamated in 1989 to become the South Westland Ward.  He has participated on a number of committees such as the Audit, Remuneration and Production committee of which he was Chairman for five years. Four years ago along with family members he purchased a 200 hectare neighbouring farm milking 360 cows.
